Athena inspired shin guard

This was a turbo project which meant that i was given a very small amount of time to create a piece of armour as quickly as possible

The first thing to do when creating an armour piece is to use modroc to make a mould of the part of the body it is going to fit on. In this example i made a mould of my shin. I then used this mould to create a replica of my lower leg using plaster and skrim.

I then used this replica to sculpt over thus creating a clay version of the armour. I then used latex to cast the clay sculpt into something that was light and flexible. I then used acrylic paint to create a 'goddess' vibe to this Athena shin piece.

Materials used

- Plaster

- modroc

- skrim

- latex

- acrylic paint

- clay
